Job Description
Qualifications
- A B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or related discipline with at least 1 years of experience or an A.S. Degrees in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or related discipline with at least 2 years of experience. Prior experience in a formulation or industrial laboratory is highly preferred.
- Ability to safely work "hands-on”in a laboratory environment and with scientific instruments for up to six hours per day.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with MS Office applications (such as Excel and PowerPoint) is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting lab-scale manufacture of cosmetic formulations, including preparation/editing of batch protocols, lab-scale compounding, and documentation of results in lab notebook and electronic formats.
- Conducting characterization and stability testing of base formulas and market-ready prototypes and accurately documenting results in lab notebook and electronically for efficient sharing with peers.
- Assisting in the lab-scale manufacture and testing of market-ready cosmetic prototypes and promotional materials, such as demo sets and sample kits.
- Executing basic claim substantiation studies according to defined protocols.
- Assisting in the preparation of formulation data sheets and reports for use by Marketing as promotional materials.
- Maintaining laboratory workspace in clean and safe operating order in compliance with company policies.
- Option of assisting in providing Customer Service support to troubleshoot customer formulations and enable effective use of company products.
