Job Description: Responsibility: -Hands-on IP router/switch/telephony customer premises equipment-Design, configure and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software and communication links and services. -Optimize the network and systems services and troubleshoot any network performance issues.-Responsible for the service provision and monitoring of the network infrastructure to company standards.Skills: -Specific knowledge and 3 to 5 years experience with Cisco and Juniper routers-Knowledge of internetworking designs and their applications and routing-Solid knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologies-Experience with protocols -Firewall experience with firewalls such as (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG etc.)-Extensive experience with Cisco switches and routers-Certifications such as (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
Position Comments: Proactive/Reactive monitoring of Commercial Network Core/Edge devices using various Element Management tools (Spectrum, Ericson Experience Manager, SevOne, etc) to isolate and troubleshoot all network related issues Process all customer calls/emails and take ownership of issue until resolution Troubleshoot network outages, network latency, or CPE failures until resolution Setup dispatch and troubleshoot issues with local field operations to resolve customer/network related issues Direct efforts so as to maintain service Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) within regional or contractual standards Advanced Knowledge of Networks: oLocal Area Network (LAN)oWide Area Network (WAN)oMetropolitan Area Network (MAN)oCarrier EthernetoCarrier WavelengthoCell BackhauloDOCSIS StandardsoEthernet over HFC
