The Gene Therapy Development and Manufacturing group is responsible for the design and optimization of viral vector manufacturing processes and platforms as well as the manufacture of clinical trial materials via external manufacturing. This organization encompasses cell line engineering, upstream process development, downstream process development and platform innovation.
The cell line engineering/vectorology sub-group is responsible for the design and optimization of viral vector producer and packaging cell lines used for the production of early and late stage clinical gene therapy products. The qualified individual will work with the supervisor to design and execute experiments involving generation and characterization of stable cell lines as well as the production and analysis of recombinant AAV viral vectors.
We are seeking a motivated individual skilled in molecular biology and mammalian cell culture. Knowledge and experience in virology is preferred. The position requires expertise in standard molecular biological techniques as well as DNA and protein analytical assays such as quantitative PCR, southern, western blots and ELISA. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint are also required.
Candidates should show strong attention to detail, sound technical judgement and excellent organizational and communication skills. In addition, they will be able to function under moderate supervision and demonstrate the desire to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
Bachelors degree in biological sciences with 2 or more years of experience
