Scientist, Sample Management
Job Description
Under the guidance of the Compound Management Leadership, Scientist will execute reformatting of archived samples libraries using tip based liquid handling automation. This involves working off of list of identified library plates for reformat, execution the liquid transfer from plate to tube, entering newly made tube in database and storing new tubes in automated tube storage system. Maintains communication with Library Management lead on the status of reformatting efforts and ensures timelines are met. Ability to learn new software to support streamlined workflows. The Candidate will work in a highly interactive organization and must be an excellent communicator.

Summary of the Essential Functions of the Job
- Decompression efforts (move from deep well 384-well library plates to 500uL FluidX tubes for active library) add to Database and physically load tubes in sample store
- 1 Dram vial-->Tubes;Move all wetstore vials into standardized 500uL FluidX tubes add to Database and physically load tubes in sample store
- Historic active recovery plates-->tubes (working with CM leadership would identify unique samples in WK recovery plates, cherrypick samples and transfer into 500ul FluidX tubes then discard remaining plates add tubes to Database and physically load tubes in sample store
- Standardizing sample storage tubes- Using Liquid handler and under guidance of CM leadership converting from backlog of older library samples in historic tubes into standardized 500ul FluidX tubes
- Create 1536 screening library- Create several 1536-well LDV copies of the screening library from existing 384 poly pro plates
- BS (or equivalent laboratory experience) in Biology/Chemistry/Life Sciences, compound management/sample logistics experience desirable. (1-2 years)
- Working knowledge of technologies commonly used in a laboratory setting, liquid handling automation experience desirable
- Comfortable with working in proper personal protection equipment (safety glasses, gloves, lab coat)
- Excellent computer skills.
- The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and work productively in teams as well as independently.
